  • Assess the school's needs and strengths with the administrative team.
  • Develop a transparent, evidence-based budget aligned with the school's vision, mission, and goals, ensuring transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Rely on student data analysis to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth & improvement.
  • Seek budget recommendations from faculty and staff.
  • Research financial support from various sources including local, state, and federal funding to provide additional programming.

Local, State, and National Trends Impacting Learning

While it is prudent to embrace trends such as blended learning and collaborative approaches, educators must be mindful of demographic shifts, socio-economic variations, and the rising rate of poverty. Across the nation, K-12 school divisions face mounting challenges of equity and accessibility. As the opportunity gap grows in many parts of the country, schools are experiencing a widening divide between those with opportunity and those without.  With respect to these trends, divisions must prioritize dedicated support systems and staffing that include a unified mental health team, working collaboratively with bilingual facilitators, towards the common goal of addressing equitability. School staff must work with families to recognize and mitigate barriers to learning.  Through family engagement initiatives, the culture of the learning environment is strengthened, improving academic outcomes.  Closing disparities in order to meet the needs of all students should remain a priority for educational policy makers.
